Great Place for a Team Building Painting Class
The Casa Madrona Hotel and Spa in Sausalito has ideal conference rooms for painting classes which are available with or without catering. With wine flowing, the painting class can also be a relaxing social event. Sausalito is a beautiful small town for a company retreat. The breath-taking views, pleasant parks, charming shops, and restaurants are all at your finger-tips. San Francisco is an easy 15 minute drive or a quick ferry ride away.
Teaching Method
As the teacher I introduce myself to your group and make them feel at ease with the painting theme. I explain the use of the paints and brushes as well as the basics of planning their paintings. I provide all materials necessary for the best results including inspirational materials for the project. I then make myself available to assist individuals with their paintings by providing help and suggestions on demand. I provide bags for everyone to carry their finished paintings and clean up the space afterwards.
Enjoyment
It’s great to see everyone’s faces light up when they enter the room and see all the paints and canvases laid out and ready for them to begin. I also enjoy helping people overcome any feelings of discomfort with painting because it may be something they haven’t done since childhood. And I enjoy making sure they succeed.
Success
I aim to make the unfamiliar process of painting fun and appealing. I’m rewarded by seeing the group absorbed in their paintings and learning from the work of those around them. It’s a joy to see everyone proudly holding up their paintings afterwards for a group photo.
Rates
The Group Rate for a team building painting class is $400 an hour in Sausalito with a two hour minimum. The rate at other locations in the Bay Area is $550 an hour to account for travel and set up time. Groups of over six people should provide or rent an appropriate space with tables and chairs for everyone. (I can accommodate up to six students at my Sausalito Art Studio). There is also a materials fee of $10 per person which includes a canvas panel for painting and use of all supplies needed to complete the project. All classes must be pre-paid at least one week in advance (refundable with a $75 cancellation fee).

I think that having one of these for my work would be really fun. Not many of us actually know each other that well, so it would also be a good way to get to know each other. I’ll look more into it as it seems that there are multiple places and things that we could do.
