Poppies Diptych Oil Painting

Poppies Diptych oil painting is composed of two canvases, 12” x 16” each. They were painted together on the same easel, and are now framed together, as intended. The painting shows an abundance of dancing California Poppies set against a green field with a blue sky above. The canvases of Poppies Diptych are framed side by side in a contemporary matte black frame (17” x 25” x 2” ).

The history of art offers many examples diptychs. Some artists use even more canvases to merge into one complete image. For example David Hockney often paints with multiple canvases, sometimes filling whole walls with one painting.
